Master Makeover

Before:
I usually don't put as much time and care and love into the master bedroom compared to the other rooms in our home. Lately though, I've been planning a little update to my husband and My room. It took a SUPER long time to figure out what metal to go with (gold, silver, or bronze). And I knew I wanted a lot of black and white and not so many random colors. So I finally decided to bite the bullet and use gold (all the other rooms in my house have a silver accent so this was a new big step for me)!

The quilt my grandmother made for our wedding has always been the main inspiration for our room:
I hate to admit it (and a little embarrassed)....but I was never a 'quilt' kind of person and this quilt has changed that in me...I LOVE this quilt and all the cute, vintage floral fabrics it has!

So this was the colorpalate I have used and still use....just slightly different.

After:

Ok so I was definitely on a budget (right Zach?😏) and so I had to get creative with some things....

One makeover was the signs that are now above my bed. I turned them over and painted the back....quick, cheap, and easy! Also added back and gold.

A few other things got paint jobs....

A few of my favorite things that I bought came from a local antique/thrift store and I got it all for $30!!! (Candlestick, mirrored tray, crate, and OLD picture frame)

Next....thank you dollar store/dollar spot at target!!! Planters and picture frames ($18)

I used some things that I had elsewhere in my house....I don't know if you know me...but I move things around literally DAILY!! Zach comes home to a different house everyday!

And then I spent $60 at Target/Tuesday Mornings/Hobby Lobby

And last but SOOOO not least!!!! I got new sheets from The Sheet Lady and they are AWESOME!!! And only $35!!!

So I spent a just under $150 and I am loving this little renovation! I know it is so cheezy to say (especially for anyone that watches home/design shows!) but I seriously will spent way more time in here and enjoying our little retreat!!

'After' results

Here are the end results....

June 16-July 13, after many workouts and 'clean' meals...And a lot of in satisfied cravings (and a few satisfied ones;) oops!) I am so glad that I can tell a little bit of a difference in the look, but super glad that I feel like I have more energy and self control:)

Here were my goals and the results:
Fitness goals for 30 days-
-workout at least 5 times a week
---met:)
-1 workout being a timed mile run getting my time down to 7:30 by day 30
---I did a timed mile run once a week, after my first time ended up being 10:16 I decided to reevaluate my goal and I wanted to improve by 30sec each week, my latest mile time was 9:02 so I did improve some but still have a ways to go!!
-at least 1 workout being 2+ mile runs
---met
- I want to get my weight down to 125
---I am breast feeding so this was a long shot, I weight 130 (I lost 7.5 in. and I lost 5 pounds)
-tone! (I am mostly concerned about the appearance rather then weight! I want my stomach, legs, butt, and arms more toned)
---some progress made, feeling good about that!

Eating goals-
-whole foods only
---had very few cheat days!
-no soda!! (Since moving to the hottest place EVER!! Zach and I(me more than him) have come down with a horrible soda drinking habit...it's just so refreshing with this killer heat!!)
---I had one soda:/
-no extremes! (Zach and I aren't fans of diets...rather we want to have a well balanced diet that includes all good groups!)
---I feel like we ate normal food that was good and we definitely will continue to just eat better, not weird stuff or extreme dieting

Coming along...

Boy I can't wait to buy a house and be able to do whatever I want to it!!
For now I am sticking to changes with the furniture and decor..and cheap things of course!

Here are some of the projects that I have done since moving into our new rental house...

This the process of the tv stand I wanted and planned out...and boy was it a lot of math and planning for this to work out! Zach was the gentleman that went to get the lumber cut for me...so I sent him off with a whole butt load of measurements, he did awesome and came back with all the right sizes (after a long day at the lumber store with the guy cutting-who was not happy about my long list!!) what a trooper he was!!
But it turned out just perfect! We long the stain and sturdiness!!!

The old lady ceramic water pump I found at goodwill was just a small thing that I found and painted...I already have other plans for it rolling around in my head tho;)

One of the things I was SO happy to come upon at an AWESOME price turned out a little different than planned bit it is fine for now...another piece that is sure to change sooner or later...
Before....
After...

I am a HUGE fan of recycled projects...My #1 love being old cans from canned foods...

So here is my living room finally pretty put together (it's always changing tho)

And as always....there will be more to come!

Goals

Zach and I are starting a fitness/clean eating challenge on Monday. I would like to achieve a few different goals in those areas as well as others! Since we have moved and trying to get used to a baby's schedule, I have yet to settle into my own schedule...I've been too focused on Jace's!

So here is a good starting list:
WEIGHT LOSS
Fitness goals for 30 days-
-workout at least 5 times a week
-1 workout being a timed mile run getting my time down to 7:30 by day 30
-at least 1 workout being 2+ mile runs

- I want to get my weight down to 125
-tone! (I am mostly concerned about the appearance rather then weight! I want my stomach, legs, butt, and arms more toned)

Eating goals-
-whole foods only
-no soda!! (Since moving to the hottest place EVER!! Zach and I(me more than him) have come down with a horrible soda drinking habit...it's just so refreshing with this killer heat!!)
-no extremes! (Zach and I aren't fans of diets...rather we want to have a well balanced diet that includes all good groups!)

SELF
-pray and study scriptures everyday! (Need to get back in the habit of reading/studying again!!)
-get out of the house more! ( it's hard with a newborn but I can't go crazy being cooped up! And don't spend any extra money to achieve this;) you're welcome Zach!)
-stay within a planned budget (meaning I will also need to make a strict budget!)
-be an awesome mom above all else!! (Dont let any of these goals get to be more important than the little angel you worked so hard to make!)

I haven't taken before picture/weights/sizing yet...starting Monday I will be updating my start and my progress:) woohoo!!!

Projects...

This pile of lumber will be......??

What did I see in this ugly thing???
These two projects and one other will be coming soon!!

My time has also been spent
With this smiley boy who ROLLED over last week Wednesday and I was totally shocked and figured it had to be an accident...by Friday he was rolling from his tummy to back almost every time I would put him on his belly!! And he just turned 7 weeks yesterday! Oh boy :/

Baby Jace and our last 6 weeks

6 weeks ago I was sitting in the hospital....
I was induced and they started me on pitocin at about 10:30am (picture taken right after).

By 3 I was having some intense contractions and around 5:15 I told them to GIVE ME THE DRUGS!!

Jace was born at 6:50pm on March 31, 2014.
He weighed 7lb. 12oz. And was 21.5 in. long. Zach and I thought he would have been smaller!
But we were so happy with our perfect little baby boy!
After only 22 hours we were able to take that baby home!
Thankfully my mom was there to help out the first two days after Jace was born!
And to take him to the doctor for the first time;( (it was snowing!)
Then mom left and we were on our own for a week and a half...and it was a busy week and a half! Zach was taking finals getting ready to graduate and I was home alone with Jace.

When he was six days old we had some friends come over and the wife, Kayleigh, and I took some AWESOME new born shots of Jace! She did a great job! Shooting and I played around with props and positioning of Jace. He was SO good!! And had never been that awake and alert ever!

We've got ourselves a little model!

I bought this scale seven months before, shortly after I found out we were pregnant, with this picture in my head...gave me an excuse to buy it, the first 'baby' purchase...but multipurposed (only way I do!!)
My mom got these CUTE letters for like a buck a piece at KMart! Jace was born with pretty dark hair!
The little Booker, our border collie, was my valentine's gift and Zach's first...and only baby purchase!  The books, (I just love) I bought at an antique store years ago when I was still in high school and have been WAITING for a baby!!
Jace has been a really smilie baby! We love it! After he eats he is just so happy I guess! (Gets that from his momma!) just today, while eating, he laughed for real for the time...so cute!

Zach's family came into town(Rexburg) when Jace was 11 days old and Zach graduated from BYU-Idaho was Jace was just 11 days old.
His 12th day was spent at a volleyball tournament of some friends(Kendra and Macie Knapp) while Zach and his family loaded our HUGE moving truck, bless their souls! I had to leave the house because I knew I would go crazy because I couldn't help.
Day 13 our little guy was blessed by his dad...Zach's father and brothers, minus Jenner on his missin, and our awesome bishop stood in the circle. He was very well behaved and Zach said he smiled during it. Zach did a wonderful job as mom sat there crying:/

Day 14 we hit the road...925 miles from Rexburg to Surprise Az! We stopped one day to meet Greatgradma Cooley, sweetest lady!
We made it to Surprise on the 16th of April and with help from the Jansen clan and Grandma Scrimsher we were able to get moved in pretty quick!

We spent Easter weekend with the Van Orman's, they were so sweet and lived baby Jace! It was so nice to take a break from moving and just relax at their beautiful home!

When we got home Zach started his job and I was alone with Jace again... I love it! I can't tell you what we do all day....but it's fun and I just love spending every day with Jace! He is growing so fast and recently celebrated one month!

The ongoing question in everyone's mind...Cooley...or Scrimsher?? I can't tell at all!!:/

This past weekend was Mother's Day, I had an awesome time getting a break from boys

and visiting Ikea for the first time
and getting a lovely breakfast and awesome dinner! All by Zach!
I even got a little alone quiet time after getting them both down!

Today the little model is 6 weeks old! Went so fast yet seems like he has been here all along!

Anytime Jace is napping i spend cooking, cleaning and trying to get my house just how I like it...stay tuned for the new house we call home!
And any day now I'll get back to getting and staying fit...stay tuned for that too!
